Before the Easter Bunny makes a stop by your home, you’re not going want to miss these local Easter events. From unique spins on the traditional egg hunt to chances for your child to unleash their inner artist, there are plenty of choices for your family this year. Here are Key to Fine Home’s hand-picked selections:

1. Zionsville Lion’s Club “EGGnormous" Egg Hunt

Kicking off the list is a hunt right here in Zionsville that boasts over 15,000 eggs. Before the main event is an “egg stroll” for the toddlers, face painting, and picture opportunities with the Easter Bunny. The festivities begin 9:00am on April 15 and include a rubber duck scavenger hunt eligible for prizes.

2. Easter Painting

If you’re looking for something different, Easter painting at the Monon Community Center might fit the bill. Participants will use acrylic paint on a 16x20 canvas to create an “eggstra” special gift or a room decoration.  Online registration is open now, and the event is Saturday the 15th at 3:30 p.m.

3. Easter Egg Splash at Jordan YMCA

Collecting eggs on land is one thing, but what about in the water? On Saturday the 15th, the pool will be divided up based on swim ability level. Eggs can be exchanged for a goody basket, since candy wouldn’t be any good wet. You can call to pre-register.

4. Westfield Church Helicopter Egg Drop

This huge event involves 140 volunteers and takes place at the Grand Park Sports Campus. The eggs for this hunt are dropped by a helicopter and between the two spots totals over 30,000 in number. The eggs don’t hold candy themselves, and can be redeemed for goldfish or animal crackers if you’d prefer. There’s also inflatable bounce houses/slides, face painting, and photo opportunities. The 6th annual event is happening this year on April 8th.

5. Moonlight Madness Easter Egg Hunt

Daytime egg hunts aren’t the only option! Broad Ripple Park is hosting a “Moonlight Madness” hunt that requires flashlights. Arts/Crafts and games are also included.  This popular event on April 7th is already full, but you can sign up to be on the wait list!

6. Special Egg Event: For Children With Special Needs

This Brownsburg hunt is FREE and takes part at the Well Community Center and features 3 different events. At 3 p.m. is the “Magnetic Egg Hunt”. Children in wheelchairs or using gait trainers can pick up eggs with magnetic holes. Next at 4 p.m. is the “Quiet Egg Hunt”, a good fit for kids with sensory processing needs or who want to avoid stimulation. The festivities conclude with a general egg hunt for children who have developmental delays and need more time but not assistance with the actual hunt.

7. Whitestown Easter Egg Hunt

We end our list with an annual egg hunt back here in Zionsville at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club. The hunt begins at 10 a.m. on April 15 with the appearance of the Easter bunny. Afterwards is a brunch and a showing of the Easter themed movie “Hop.”

Whether you want to stay right here in Zionsville or explore nearby suburbs, there’s clearly a lot of options for your Easter festivities this year.  Let us know which event you pick, even if it’s not on this list!
